Lomanco PCV-1 Crawl Space Fan Installation Instructions
The fan arrived in the mail fairly quickly. I turned the humidistat to the always on position to follow Michael Church’s recommendation in his very good book Crawl Space Repair Myths Busted: “I recommend setting all fans designed to move soil gases to the “on†position 24-7 and 365 days a year†(p. 92). However, I didn’t realize that the temperature sensor could not also be set to the “on†always position. The fan turns off when the temperature goes below 40 degree F. I live in area where it snows in the winter, so it will be off a good portion of the time. I’m disappointed.
Installed one and worked great. The second one will not turn on. Tested multiple outlets in the same area as the first one and tried adjusting the dial in all positions. Other devices work in all outlets tested. Seems to be a defective product.
The fan is easy to install, even in the brick foundation. I could only use 3 screws, since some of the bricks were chipped too far back from the mount of the fan, and it still holds securely. You can hear the fan from the outside several feet away, but not inside the house. It helps draw the dry air from the dehumidifier to the far area of the crawlspace.
I like it.
Nice product , appreciate your videos, thanks Mr. Church for your time on them.
Installed fan 3 weeks ago so far it is working fine and is very guiet.
