The Aprilaire E080CS is great for basements or crawl spaces. It is packed with great features. It’s a nice, compact unit that makes it easy to place it in various spaces. It features a built-in digital control on the unit body. It also features a discharge selector so that you can choose whether to discharge through the top or the rear of the unit. It ships with a 10-inch round duct collar for connecting to your duct work. The great thing about this unit is that it was designed to be much quieter than its predecessors.

Dries the air but does make some noise
This dehumidifier is working well in our 4' crawl space. I love the fact that it is made in the USA and I really hope it lasts longer than the big box store floor standing models. The unit removes the humidity quickly and easily from our 1600 SQ FT space. It does make some noise. I can hear it upstairs and I believe it is the circulation fan, or more so a blower I guess the way it looks. It has a higher pitch tone that can be heard throughout the house. It's not bothersome, just noticeable. We have had it running for about 1 month so far and has been trouble free.

Quality control
The unit came from the factory with a manufacturing defect in workmanship that rendered it inoperable. I didn't catch the problem until I had it fully installed in my crawl space, a big pain in the ass. I discovered that the blower had never been installed right with the 4 anchor bolts miss drilled so the guy at the factor just shoved the unit in the case, jamming it into the cowling. I had to jeririg its proper attachment. Once unboxed there was no practical way of returning it.

Aprilaire E080
My Aprilaire E080 only lasted 2 years before I started receiving an E04 code. It has been well taken care of. After researching the error code, looks like I will be getting a replacement under warranty. Makes you wonder if some of the components are cheaply made like other electronic appliances today.

E080CS Dehumidifier
I was confused that my CS (crawl space) model did not come with an exhaust backdraft damper, as indicated in the installation manual. However, a quick call to AJ at customer service, and he explained the damper did not come with the CS version. The damper is for installing in a ducted HVAC system. This made sense and clarified my confusion. It would be helpful if Apriaire included this info in the installation manual.

Aprilaire E080CS
I ordered this right before the holiday and was able to install it about 2 weeks ago. It was easy to install and so far is working great in my previously damp crawl space. I know it's still early but so far I am very pleased with this product!

Just what we needed
Our crawl space was extremely damp, and already just after a week of the dehumidifier running, I can already see a tremendous improvement. The first one we ordered was defective (most likely from shipping). After contacting ninja customer service, the situation was resolved expediently, and a replacement was sent promptly. Overall a good experience. I would definitely recommend buying from Crawl Space Ninjas!

Dehumidifier
Easy to install, set up, and operate. This unit is currently keeping my encapsulated/insulated crawl space at 79 degrees dry bulb temperature and 41% RH. Extremely quiet; I cannot hear it running.
